Real-Time Royalty — Age of Empire II: Definitive Edition is Out Now on macOS

A new era dawns: Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, one of the most beloved real-time strategy games of all time, is now available natively for modern Macs via Steam.

First released in 1999 and perfected over 25 years (and counting!), Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is the latest iteration of the game, and comes complete with razor-sharp 4K visuals, all-new animations, quality-of-life improvements and a remastered soundtrack. Also included as standard are the expansions, “Lords of the West,” “Dynasties of India,” and “Dawn of the Dukes”.

A large — and still-growing — stable of DLC is also available for macOS players to purchase. From Return of Rome, which transplants the original Age of Empires experience into the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition engine, to The Last Chieftains, exploring the complex medieval societies of South America — it’s all waiting to be discovered.
