As part of the Steam download process, the game has already been installed on your computer. To start playing the game, read the Getting Started section.
Double-click on the Steam application icon. By default this is located in the Applications folder on your computer’s hard drive.
If you are not already signed in, the Steam Login dialog will appear. Enter your account name and password, then select Login.
The Steam application will launch. Select the Library tab.
In the library, highlight F1 2017 in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select Play.
The F1™ 2017 pre-game Options window will appear. Click on the Play button. The game will launch.
After the opening video and loading screens, the Title screen will appear. Press any key.
The Gamma Adjustment screen will appear. Use the left and right arrow keys to adjust the slider until the change between each tile looks even. When you're ready, press the Return key.
The HUD Area Adjustment screen will appear. Use the arrow keys to adjust the area to fit your display. When you're ready, press the Return key.
The Driver Creation screen will appear. Choose your custom driver's Avatar, Helmet, Nationality, Driver Number and Name. These details will be used in your career and throughout F1™ 2017. When you've entered your driver's details, select Register Details.
The Main Menu will appear. Select Career.
The Team Selection dialog will appear. Select Okay.
The Team Selection screen will appear. Select your team.
The Choose Your Team Mate dialog will appear. When you have selected your team mate, select Start Career.
The Career Weekend Structure screen will appear. Adjust the Practice, Qualifying, Race and AI Driver Level settings, then press the Return key to advance.
You'll find yourself in your new team's headquarters, having just signed your first professional contract. After an introduction to your agent, it's time to take to the track in your first practice session...
The most important factors in determining how smoothly F1™ 2017 plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer and the in-game settings you select.
F1™ 2017 is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:
In addition to these general Mac actions, there are numerous specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list adjusting settings until you find an acceptable balance between performance and graphics.
NOTE: All of these settings are found in either F1™ 2017's pre-game Options window under the Display tab or within the game under Game Options → Settings → Graphics Options → Video Mode and Game Options → Settings → Graphics Options → Advanced Setup, accessible from the Main Menu.
Feral games come with a pre-game Options window. This window offers Mac-specific extra features, described below.
Extras Tab - iTunes Pausing
Selecting this feature will automatically pause any currently playing song in iTunes while F1™ 2017 is running. Playback will be resumed when the game is quit or paused.
Extras Tab - iChat or Messages Away Status
Selecting this feature will automatically set your iChat (called "Messages" in OS X 10.8 or later) status to "away" while F1™ 2017 is running. You can select different "away" messages from the pop-up menu. The "away" options are taken from the user's iChat (or Messages) status listings.
Support Tab - Support - A Helping Hand
If you encounter a problem with F1™ 2017, you can use the Support tab to consult Feral's online FAQs. If your problem is not covered by the FAQs, you can contact Feral using the automated game report system. This automatically creates a file with information about your computer that is useful to the Feral Technical Support team in helping to solve the problem.
To uninstall F1™ 2017, follow these steps:

If you are not already signed in, the Steam Login dialog will appear. Enter your account name and password, then select Login.
The Steam application will launch. Select the Library tab.
In the library, right-click on F1™ 2017 in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select Manage → Uninstall.
A dialog will appear confirming that you wish to delete all the game content. Select Uninstall.

The game is officially supported on the following Macs. To check your Mac model and when it was released, select About This Mac from the Apple menu on your menu bar.
The Macs listed below are capable of running the game but do not consistently meet the standards required for official support. This means your computer will run the game, but is not able to get the best out of it in terms of performance, graphics and stability.
Every effort has been made to make F1™ 2017 as compatible with current hardware as possible. However, if you are experiencing problems when running F1™ 2017, please read on.

All the information required can be obtained by opening F1™ 2017 and clicking on the Support tab in the F1™ 2017 pre-game Options window. In the Support tab, click on the Generate Report button. Once the report is generated it will appear as a file in your ~/Downloads folder (the “~” symbol refers to your home directory). Now click on the Create Email button. Remember to attach the F1 2017 Report.txt file to your email.
In your email, please include a brief description of the problem you have experienced with F1™ 2017.
