Conrad Roth
Conrad Roth, captain of the research vessel Endurance, is a former Royal Marine and treasure hunter often hired to escort Lara’s father on expeditions. Roth has taught Lara how to climb, navigate and survive in hostile conditions, and over the years they have grown very close. Now, all his physical and mental toughness is required if they are to make it through the ordeals that await them.
Samantha Nishimura
A budding documentary filmmaker and Lara’s best friend, this free spirit jumped at the chance to capture the Yamatai expedition on-film. Although she doesn’t share Sam’s wild-child tendencies, Lara is deeply loyal to her friend and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
James Whitman
Before ditching academia for showbiz, Dr. Whitman’s archaeological expertise commanded the respect of many - including Lara. Now, with little more than an ailing TV show and a crumbling marriage to his name, he’s joined the Endurance in one last-ditch effort to restore his fortunes - an attempt he will go to any lengths to ensure is a success.
Joslin Reyes
Tough-talking Reyes’ engineering skills made her a natural for chief mechanic on the Endurance. An ex-cop, she has known Roth for years and her role on the ship means she and Lara are well acquainted. Reyes’ desire to return home safely to her daughter makes her skeptical when the Yamatai expedition is directed into danger.
Jonah Maiava
After an honorable discharge from the New Zealand Army, Jonah was happy to pursue his love of creating great food by becoming the Endurance’s cook. Strong, smart and with great instincts, Jonah has much in common with Lara, whom he affectionately calls “Little Bird”. The two support each other when disaster strikes, whether it’s with encouraging words or scavenged equipment.
Alex Weiss
A gifted engineer and hacker, Alex could achieve great success in the tech field if he applied himself. Attracted to Lara, he prefers to spend his time as an odd-job man aboard the Endurance. He’s desperate to impress Lara, and faced with the horrors of Yamatai, is quick to put himself in harm’s way.
Angus "Grim" Grimaldi
Grim and Roth went into business together after crossing paths during Grim’s stint in the Merchant Navy. As helmsman of the Endurance, he too accompanied Lara’s father on many of his expeditions. Despite his brusqueness, Grim is very fond of Lara and is fiercely protective of her.
