This document is intended to help you answer any questions that you may have about Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection
Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection has been fully tested on Ubuntu 14.04. For the best gameplay experience, we recommend you use this distro.
The game should also work on other recent versions of Ubuntu, and may also work on other Linux distros; however, as the game has not been tested on these, it is possible that you will encounter performance and gameplay issues, and we do not currently offer support for other versions or distros.
The graphics card series and driver versions below have been tested, and these and higher series or versions will run the game without issues:
Nvidia
Series: 6xx
Driver version: 355.11
NOTE: Open-source Nvidia graphics drivers are not currently supported by Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection. Unfortunately, the current open-source Nvidia drivers do not support a number of the graphical features used in the game.
AMD
AMD graphics cards are not currently supported by Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection.
If you wish to play the game using an AMD graphics card, we recommend that you update your graphics driver to AMD Catalyst version 15.9 or higher. You may be able to play the game, but are likely to see graphical glitches and experience performance or stability issues.
Intel
Intel graphics cards are not currently supported by Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection.
Yes, achievements are supported by Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection.
If you are signed in to Steam, your achievements will be visible to you in-game and also to other players through the Steam application.
All available DLC for Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection can be purchased from the game's page on the Steam store:

To purchase your chosen DLC, follow the on-screen instructions.
If you have purchased Alien: Isolation – The Collection, you already own all the released DLC content.
Once purchased, you can access DLC as detailed below.
Survivor mode maps
The Trigger, Lost Contact, Safe Haven, Corporate Lockdown and Trauma all add new maps to survivor mode.
To play survivor mode maps, select Play Game → Survivor Mode from the Main Menu. Use the arrows in the top-left of the screen to switch between different maps.
New playable characters
Some DLC packs add new playable characters to survivor mode.
You'll be given the chance to pick which character you'd like to play when you start a map in survivor mode. Not all characters are available on all maps.
Crew Expendable
Crew Expendable is a short story mode that is separate from the main story.
To play Crew Expendable, select Play Game → Crew Expendable from the Main Menu.
Last Survivor
Last Survivor is a short story mode that is separate from the main story.
To play Last Survivor, select Play Game → Last Survivor from the Main Menu.
When you start the game, there is a small chance that the doors leading to the galley, where Taylor can be found, will be locked. This prevents you from completing the first mission.
If you encounter this problem, you should restart the game and play through the first mission again.
Some players report that the problem is less likely to occur if you complete your first objectives in the following order:

The gamepads in the following list have been tested and are supported by Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection:
The pads below are also supported by SDL and you should be able to use them to play Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection. However, as they have not been tested with the game, we cannot guarantee that they will work:
If you encounter problems when using any of the gamepads listed above, please contact our technical support team.
* The Xbox One controller works by default with SteamOS, but will only work with Ubuntu 14.04.2 when using Linux kernel version 3.17 or above.
** In order to use your PlayStation pad with Alien: Isolation™ - The Collection, you may need to press the PlayStation button in the center of the controller after connecting the pad to your computer. This allows your computer to recognize the pad.
Switching between a virtual terminal (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1-F6) and the X server (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F7) while the game is running may cause the game to crash or the graphics to render incorrectly.
The problem will be fixed the next time you launch the game.
We do not recommend switching to a virtual terminal while running the game, as the problem is likely to occur each time you do so.
